To me, he seems tired, but content. His work is his life. This is something I strive for myself, to need to “work” because my work is my passion. Sacrificing what you can to live this way, I see it here. This is what made this painting so inspiring and personal to me. Long hours, everyday life stressors and the uncontrollable variables catch up to all of us, but when you have found something that ignites a feeling of inspiration and joy, those long hours are rarely counted. I love this craftsman and I don’t even know him, however the longer I analyzed him, the closer I felt. I can only wish he is as kind and full of stories as I envision.
