I love the work of Platon, the British photographer. How he is able to capture the most authentic side of his subjects. This is a re-creation of one of his photos taken of David Hockney. I’ve always loved the colour palette and technique David Hockney paints by. I’m also very much drawn to the coolness of this older gentleman having a casual cig and seemingly carefree. Hockney is currently being displayed at the John B. Aird Gallery in Toronto for their 2023 Emerging Artist Show.
